Mira Talbott-Pope has been a resident of Butte County (Cohasset) for 35 years and worked as a psychotherapist and social worker. At age 70 she flew to Guatemala and the following year quit working here to move to Guatemala, changing her name to "Miranda" to avoid confusion with a Spanish verb. Her novel is based on her experiences doing volunteer work in Guatemala.
