Vietnam veterans don't usually talk about their experiences with non-vets, but Willows resident and former Scout Master Dan Roach writes of his experiences as a platoon leader in that war. One of the "gifts" of this war for Dan was meeting the young woman who wrote to him when he was a soldier. She became his wife and together they had two sons.
